Bridge of Earn Community Sports Hub

Dunbarney Primary School is proud to support the recently established Bridge of Earn Community Sports Hub, which aims to encourage greater participation of local people in sports and physical activity.

The children of the school have been involved already in the work of the hub.  The schools values of Honesty, Ambition, Respect and Kindness have been incorporated into the hubs development plan.  The logo for the hub was also the design of Dunbarney pupil Leah, chosen after a whole school competition.

Here she is being presented with her prizes by Kirsteen Ross and Bruce Latta, Sports Hub representatives.  She received a framed print of her design and a voucher, well done Leah!

The school will continue to work with the sports hub as it's work develops.  The hub will survey Dunbarney pupils and establish what physical activity they want to get involved in.  Through our active schools co-ordinator, the hub will organise ‘have a go’ sessions with various organisations such as the village canoe, tennis and bowling clubs. And they will look for and implement innovative and interesting ways of encouraging our pupils and the wider community to ensure sport and physical activity play an important in their lives.  Watch this space for more information.

In the meantime, please take a few minutes and complete the online survey.  Bridge of Earn Community Sports Hub would like to know more about you and your thoughts about sports and physical activity to help shape the plans in the local area.

This survey should take approximately 4 minutes to complete.
