This term

The class are doing a book study of “The Breadwinner”. This is a book about a young girl’s life in Afghanistan and the difficulties she faces. They will explore this through drama, writing and related activities such as examining the history of the country and expanding their mental map of the world. They will also look into Sharia Law. They will also examine more closely the Abrahamic faiths.

We are hoping to have a visit from the Scottish Parliament Outreach Service to look at law making in our country today.

In Maths they will be identifying equivalent fractions decimals and percentages. They will also look at time with some looking at timetable to calculate journeys. They will identify multiples, factors and prime numbers. They will also look at capacity and position and movement.

For health they will be involved in the British Heart Foundation “Jump Heart” Fundraising Project. They will start RSHP education later in the term. For Science and technology they will be programming and creating a robot challenge as well as finding out about buoyancy and meeting a related challenge.

Book World

Today we had our first ever Book Swap. Josh in P4 brought in an old book and traded it for a new one. He was excited to read his new book. Please come and swap your books at the bookshelves located outside the office.

BOOKworld. Started a project with us in P6. So we won money which we are now using for our Book Swap project. The headteacher is very pleased with what we have achieved. Our class teacher also thinks we have been great pupils this week.
