House activities - Thursday 26th October 2017

Drummond house made alien puppets.  The children designed their alien on paper, cut out the parts required, sewed the felt material together, glued on the body parts, stuffed the alien and then took them home.  Great afternoon had by all with some excellent sewing skills being shown.

2016/17 Term
Drummond house organised the cooking and sewing sessions (ran by the SWI).  Sessions were enjoyed by the whole school throughout the year.

The cooking sessions were held at the church hall and ladies from the SWI ran the sessions.  The children got to make a variety of food (e.g. soup, bolognese, mince pies, pancakes etc).  They learnt about different cooking techniques (melting, sautéing) and were involved in the preparation right through to the cooking of the food – took turns to cut up vegetables, mix ingredients, transfer to cooking dishes/pots. They even helped with the washing up! They got samples of the food away with them and often got to taste the delights while there (pancakes & muffins).
